Our goal is to redefine what it means to visit a nightclub, offering an experience unlike anything they've encountered before. While our approach is deeply user-centric, we also prioritize delivering measurable value to our partners by driving business growth and increasing venue revenue.

The overall theme follows a space-futuristic-Tron style, consistently applied across the club’s interior design and even reflected in the food menu. For the MVP, the key features we developed include:

• Food Menu (for Ipad or Tablet)

• CMS (for staff)

Project Overview

In this project, the mobile app is designed to portray a space-inspired theme, enhanced with glowing elements across the interface. This introduced a key challenge, as I needed to conduct in-depth research on animations to meet the stakeholders’ vision while ensuring the app remained lightweight and optimized for performance

Goals and Design Challange

We also designed a virtual tour feature for users who want to explore the venue remotely and conveniently book a spot. While the entry point is accessible through the native app, the immersive tour experience runs on a web-based platform, which seamlessly redirects users to their browser for further interaction

After discussing with stakeholders to understand their requirements for the app, we validated our feature list by analyzing similar applications that address comparable customer needs. Through this process, we identified several relevant apps, including:

Holywings

Black Owl is also a major player in the nightlife entertainment app space, and it has served as a useful reference for identifying and mapping out the features that might be needed in our app. However, its design feels outdated, the interface lacks visual appeal, and the app is prone to occasional crashes. These shortcomings present opportunities for us to improve upon the concept by delivering a more modern, stable, and user-friendly experience.

Holywings is one of the leading players in the nightlife industry, and their app provided significant insights during our research. Its wide range of features demonstrates the potential of a comprehensive nightlife platform; however, the level of complexity may overwhelm users and dilute the core experience. From our analysis, only selected features that directly enhance convenience and user engagement are worth adapting for our nightclub app

Results and Impact

Initially, I felt the design was overly complex and overwhelming. The space theme and glowing elements appeared somewhat excessive and even corny. However, despite these design shortcomings, the app has successfully attracted a large user base. This demonstrates that strong features and a well-structured user journey can, in many cases, outweigh less effective visual design

Takeaways

This app isn't just a product it's the foundation for our next generation of nightclub apps, like Alexa and Noya. With hundreds of downloads, it provides a seamless user experience and easily connects with essential third-party tools, including LED scoreboards, CMS platforms, and QR scanners for everything from guest registration to prize redemption
